SUNDAY SWAPS

SUNDAY SWAPS

Growing up, one of my favorite things to do on the weekends was to visit the swap meet. My father would usually wake me and my brother up around five o’clock in the morning, just so that we could be at the venue right when they opened. It was here where my father taught me to search for the right thing, and pay the right price. Sometimes we would come home with new bikes to ride around, and other times we would come home with absolutely nothing. Regardless, the swap meet was always a nice place to go because of the large variety of treasures that were sold there.

It wasn’t until recently that I found out about the San Diego Swap Meet located at the Sports Arena Center. As my girlfriend and I started walking around, I was fascinated with how many different types of vendors were setup in the lot. We saw all sorts of things ranging from artwork with skeletons smoking from a shoe, to bootleg angry bird t-shirts. It wasn’t long before childhood memories came rushing back to me.
