It’s been six years since I was first introduced to Barrio Logan and back then it was a different place. Despite the historic milestones that were accomplished at Chicano Park years prior, the neighborhood seemed quiet and many of the locals kept to themselves. I’ve been fortunate to witness the transformation that has occurred over the recent years and observed the emergence of new architectural projects, local businesses, and the presence of the low rider scene. With the summer season coming to a close, I made sure to stop by the La Vuelta meet-up to check out some of the rides. The turn out was great as cars slowly drove down the boulevard with bass and hydros bumping in full blast. It was nice to see that a casual Wednesday gathering was a reason to have a block party for everyone to enjoy.
