JTREE GETAWAY

JTREE GETAWAY

A couple weekends ago, Iris and I got together with some friends to have an off road adventure in the desert. Our destination was Joshua Tree, and we took all the scenic routes that we could to get there. In addition to Coachella weekend, all campsites within the park were booked. Our plan was to take the less traveled Berdoo Canyon into the park, and make camp at the northern BLM. Our plans proved to be a success, and we were able to stay away from the crowds for the majority of the weekend. We made camp on a small concrete slab that we scouted near a dry lake bed. Our friend Ed and his wife Cindy had the genius idea of taking their large flat top stove on the journey, which proved to be a fantastic way to fix meals for our group. DMO and V made the long stretches of driving fly by as we caught up with each other on the road. On our way back home, we stopped by Palm Springs and drove through Anza Borrego. We had some fun at the off road obstacle course in Truckhaven and made a pit stop at Fonts Point. Good company always makes for great memories, and our short weekend getaway thoroughly enjoyed.
