Over the past few months, Iris and I have been making a large effort to explore the local mountain range of San Bernadino. Our recent adventures have included some spirited driving towards Lake Arrowhead, and an off road trail to Willow Creek. Our last excursion took us high in the clouds and deep into the forest where we found Jenks Lake. To our surprise, there was still a lot of snow despite the warmer weather. The experience was surreal with no one else around, and a frozen lake to ourselves. The air was crisp, yet comfortable enough for us to take a stroll around the entire perimeter. An empty dock made for a great opportunity to take in all the scenery before heading back down the mountain.
