JOURNEY TO JULIAN

JOURNEY TO JULIAN

Every so often, it’s nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the city to enjoy the small towns on the outskirts of the county. Julian, a small town located in east San Diego, is a great place to visit during this part of the year, and is a reasonable distance from the busier districts of the city. The town is very small, consisting of only one or two main roads, and is known for its historic appeal. The buildings here resemble and old mining town trapped in time, nestled in an area of higher elevation.

As my girlfriend and I began to walk the town, we found souvenir shops which housed antiques and collectables.

I was very surprised when I stumbled upon a set of Kendama’s; as they would be one of the last things I expected to be sold here.

The weather shifted dramatically as we continued to walk around, and I was able to experience something for the first time. It began to snow.
